Performed on-site inspection and field engineering for roadway improvement. A primary feature was the cul-de-sac introduction at the Jackson/Miami intersection with a boulevard street section also constructed. Performed as an ODOT LPA project, the project was compliant with ODOT specifications to ensure reimbursement. Responsibilities for complete construction administration process included EEO forms completion and periodic review of certified payrolls. Construction work included resurfacing, streetscape, lighting, landscaping, sidewalks with ADA crosswalks and concrete curb installation. Noteworthy project issues included significant truck movements at Miami/Sandusky Street intersection; an emphasis on proper traffic signage maintenance to ensure no delivery blockage occurred; and the paramount importance of protecting the especially large pedestrian movements at the Jackson/Miami intersection from the construction work area. Total construction cost was $742,000.
