Laurie L. Adams, PE, PTOE, Achieves Professional Transportation Planner Certification

DGL Consulting Engineers is pleased to announce that Laurie L. Adams, PE, PTOE successfully passed the Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) certification program.

“This certification represents the desire to never want to stop learning,” said Laurie. “It also incorporates aspects of my diverse background into one certification.”

The PTP certification program is designed for candidates who have a wide-range of education and experience in transportation planning. Currently, no other certification program is offered that specifically addresses the work performed by transportation planners. This certification represents a significant achievement in the transportation industry and designates Laurie as a professional who has demonstrated a commitment to high standards of professionalism and proficiency of transportation planning practices.

Laurie is a principal and Director of Traffic & Safety Engineering for DGL. With over 30 years of experience in the private consulting engineering industry, she has served a wide-range of customers including Departments of Transportation, a variety of municipal clients, as well as industrial, commercial and institutional developers of all sizes. Her specific areas of expertise include traffic studies, safety studies, traffic signals, highway lighting, maintaining traffic during construction, site design and roadway design.

Laurie is currently the President of the Engineering Affiliate of The University of Toledo (EAUT) and serves on the College of Engineering Development Committee, as well as the Civil Engineering Advisory Board. In 2015, Laurie was selected as UT’s Civil Engineering Outstanding Alumna. She sits on the Lucas County Access Management Board of Appeals and the Toledo Area Metropolitan Council of Government’s (TMACOG) Transportation Improvement Program committee. Membership in professional organizations includes the Technical Society of Toledo, American Society of Highway Engineers and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
