DGL has been an integral part of the Iron Units project for Cliffs. We performed research to acquire record data for the boundary such as plats, vacations, record surveys, record easements and performed a review of the title commitment provided by the client. Using that information, DGL’s team searched all record boundary monumentation in the field, calculated existing boundary and set missing boundary monumentation. We also performed research to acquire record below ground utility information. All information was utilized to prepare the ALTA/NSPS survey of the entire site. We worked with CH2M and the Iron Units staff to correct any title issues that arose through this process. DGL also prepared legal descriptions for the lease areas being acquired from Norfolk Southern by Iron Units LLC. DGL also prepared a plat and legal descriptions for the right of way vacation of Randolph Street and an easement release for a portion of the Front Street right of way. DGL also performed complete topographic survey for the site and established site control for construction. This data was used to produce a surface model and a base drawing for the site design. Lastly, our survey crews have been assisting the CH2M and Iron Units LLC personnel on site with survey and construction services to keep the project progress moving forward.
