St. Luke’s new Hybrid Operating Room (OR) and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab gives vascular and cardiac patients one convenient location for advanced care. The 15,000 square foot Hybrid OR and EP Lab building addition to the existing Heart Center increases capacity for numerous enhanced procedures. DGL was a design team member, responsible for the exterior site improvements to accommodate the addition. Site scope items included grading, utility relocations, downspout connections and building access from the parking area. We also performed topographic/boundary services to provide existing site information near the proposed expansion. The survey-related work items included vegetation, utility and drainage structures, overhead and underground utilities, existing pavement, site elevations, building locations and other site features like fence lines, hydrants, valves, etc. DGL also led the preliminary landscaping/planting design locations, which included a planting plan with locations of all plant materials, plant list with genus, species size and plant type, planting details, limits of seed/sod and construction notes. The addition was designed so the existing Heart Center was fully operational throughout construction.
