Legacy, Pride, and 100 Years of History!
In 1926, the firm of Forster and Wernert was formed to provide engineering services to a variety of private and public sector clients. In subsequent years the firm grew, adding surveying and architecture to complement the engineering disciplines the firm had become known for. As new partners joined and retiring partners divested, the firm’s name changed many times over the years. While known as Sanzenbacher, Miller and Brigham in the 1950s, DGL’s expertise in highway and bridge design led to a number of major projects with the Ohio Department of Transportation (then known as the Ohio Department of Highways), the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, and the Michigan Department of Transportation (Michigan State Highway Department). Our firm diversified in the years to come, expanding into traffic/safety engineering, port and rail facility design, and site development. The architectural practice was eventually discontinued to focus efforts on core services. In 1977, the firm became known as Dansard Grohnke Long, Ltd., under which it operated for nearly three decades. In 2006, we memorialized those names of our mentors and the company became DGL Consulting Engineers, LLC.
We continue to grow in quantifiable benchmarks including total staff, services provided, office locations, and service territory.
