BGSU recently held their 33rd Annual Women in STEM Program. This program focuses on girls in grades 6, 7 and 8 and exposes them to careers in the STEM fields through hands-on activities. DGL’s own Corrinne Lochtefeld, EI and Amy Zimmerman, PE are a proud part of the program! DGL’s presentation and activity, Bridge the Gap with Gumdrops, allows the students to build a toothpick and gumdrop structure that must span a "gorge”. Corrinne and Amy also included a short ASCE video explaining civil engineering, their roles within DGL and how they adapt to being women in STEM.
