Yesterday, ASCE Toledo presented DGL with the Project of the Year Award for the SR 25 / I-475 Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) project!

The benefits of the DDI are many and include reducing queuing on the mainline, improving efficiency of traffic movements through the interchange and shortening signal phasing / cycle lengths. Studies have shown that a DDI reduces crashes between 19% and 46%. There are 26 conflict points in a conventional interchange compared to only 14 in a DDI!

DGL’s Rick McGuckin, the principal in charge of the project, consistently praises the entire DDI team, “The partnership with ODOT, the City of Perrysburg, EDGE Landscape Architects and ES Wagner to transform the existing interchange at State Route 25 worked exceptionally well. The team successfully came together to provide a product that has enhanced the safety of the traveling community.”
