Construction Manager - Professional Engineer
Position Information
As a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, success in this position will require the ability to coordinate all aspects of the construction management, administration, and inspection team. DGL is looking for a well-rounded Registered Professional Engineer with signification construction management experience to enhance the qualifications of our Construction Management Department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to the following:
Serve as Senior Construction Project Manager overseeing Resident Engineers and Project Inspection team on construction projects
Communicate with Clients and in-house department leaders for thorough understanding of project scope
Assist with the preparation of Letters of Interest and Proposals based on Client requests
Manage Construction teams responsible for:
Completing daily inspection reports of work performed by the contractor
Recording daily construction activities, quantities, contractor’s equipment and on-site personnel
Scheduling and facilitating construction progress meetings
Review/approve contractor’s shop drawing submittals
Assist construction inspection team with scheduling and reviewing material testing and make sure results are per project requirements and specifications
Review and monitor overall project budget and review/approve contractor’s change orders and pay requests prior to submitting to owner for payment
Coordinate with other engineers and inspectors on project requirements
Assist in the development/implementation of DGL’s construction filing and organization system
Provide constructability review of in-house civil engineering designs and plans (Bridge / Site / Roadway / Traffic), as necessary
Obtain and maintain inspection team’s safety certifications and client pre-qualifications (ODOT / OTIC), as necessary
Assist the Bridge Department as necessary with design, bridge inspection and load ratings.
Skill Set
Experience with applicable computer software (Microsoft Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Primavera P6 Scheduling, AASHTOWare, GoFormz, etc.)
Understanding of and/or attainment of construction related pre-qualifications based on agency requirements (Construction Engineer Level 1, Construction Engineer Level 2, Project Inspector, Project Structure Inspector, Coatings Inspector, Traffic & Lighting Inspector)
Project management experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven success in delivering high quality project submittals
Ability to work and balance priorities amongst multiple projects
Outgoing, self-motivated team player
Professional demeanor
Ability to communicate effectively with all types of people
Valid Driver’s License required with a favorable driving record
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET Accredited Institution
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Ohio required
