Transportation Engineer - Traffic

Position Information

The focus is on training and developing practical experience by drawing from knowledge acquired during academic studies. Our goal is to provide an environment for aspiring engineering professionals to learn, grow and obtain necessary skills to succeed in a fast-paced and challenging environment. 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform basic transportation and/or traffic engineering calculations.

  • Develop transportation and/or traffic engineering drawings.

  • Create cost estimates for design work.

  • Familiarity with Ohio Department of Transportation Manuals and Requirements.

  • Organize information for use in drawings or other documents.

  • Assist other engineers in various tasks and duties.

  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.


Skill Set
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Microsoft Office, engineering design software packages and traffic engineering analysis software packages.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.

  • Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.

  • Outgoing, self-motivated team player

  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.

  • Professional demeanor

  • A valid driver’s license is required for possible visits to job sites, progress meetings, etc.


Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school with Transportation and/or Traffic focus.

  • Engineering Intern (E.I.) Certification preferred or the ability to obtain license within 6 months.
