Fifth Street Reconstruction

DGL provided construction inspection and administration services for this LPA project in Fremont, Ohio. Project consisted of the widening and reconstruction of Fifth Street from Pine Street to Walnut Street, a distance of 2,700 feet. The roadway was widened to three lanes and included the addition of curbs, underground utility work, catch basins, and ADA compliant curb ramps. DGL provided construction engineering services through the life of the construction contract. All work performed complied with ODOT LPA requirements/specifications. Scope included interpreting construction plans; ensuring contractor compliance with construction documents; assisting in resolution to problems that arose during construction; coordinating materials testing; directing and supervising construction inspectors; preparing and reviewing inspection reports; tracking construction pay quantities; reviewing and approving contractor payment requests; reviewing and processing required change orders; reviewing shop drawings; traffic control; scheduling and administering construction progress meetings; recording and distributing meeting minutes to all attendees and other parties of interest; completing project closeout tasks; and preparing As-Built plans. DGL was particularly attentive to underground work and critical work items such as asphalt and concrete.
