BGSU Parking Lots 5 & 12 Expansion

BGSU enlisted DGL’s professional design services for the expansion of lots 5 and 12 to accommodate 1,660 vehicles. The scope of work included earthwork balance calculations, asphalt concrete pavement, through access roads designed for future expansion, overland flow to grassy swales, and closed storm sewer system and detention storage for water quality and metering requirements. Items such as parking lot lighting, emergency phone service, surveillance, and bus shelters were also included within the project.

Another portion of this project included DGL’s design of two band practice fields with specialized sod and an irrigation system, as well as a waterline extension and new fire hydrants designed to comply with Bowling Green fire safety regulations.

DGL completed all design, permitting, and plan preparation within a compressed, aggressive schedule due to campus activities occurring throughout the construction season and the client’s desire to perform a majority of the work during the summer months.
