DGL was selected by the City of Wauseon to complete 1,000 feet of full depth roadway reconstruction on South Brunell Street. The project encompassed a study of three major streets including South Brunell Street, West Chestnut Street, and Commercial Street. Following the study, DGL determined the recommended order for repairs and reconstruction. While all three streets required repairs, storm and sanitary improvements, and full reconstruction, South Brunnell Street was identified as being in the greatest need of repair. In the case of a few residential properties along South Brunell Street, storm sewer issues were contributing to residential basement flooding. Due to the nature of these issues, DGL worked with adjacent commercial owners through the design process.
DGL’s scope of work on South Brunell Street included full depth pavement replacement, adjustment of the profile grade, connection to residential tiles, and sidewalk redesign along both sides of the road. A nearby railroad crossing, grain escalator drive, and storm and sanitary connections at the intersection of Brunell/Chestnut were all considered during the design phase of the project.
