In Fulton County, the posted 50 mph speed limit for CR D was never officially journalized. A speed study was requested to establish the appropriate speed for this 1.5-mile roadway segment located in Swancreek Township, Fulton County, Ohio. CR D is suburban in nature between Birdsong Lane and CR 1 (Fulton Lucas Road), with subdivision streets and residential homes. West of Birdsong Lane, the corridor transitions to a more rural setting, with fewer homes and predominately farmland. DGL was contracted in 2018 to evaluate current conditions and regulations to determine if the speed limit was appropriate. The project team completed field reconnaissance including speed measurements using radar equipment. An analysis of crash data as it pertains to speed was completed. DGL prepared a speed study report that justifies an acceptable speed limit for the study area.
