DGL was contracted by the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority to provide access improvements to the Port of Toledo General Cargo Docks and Ironville Terminal including two modern roundabouts. The circular intersections at Front/Millard and Millard/Tiffin are designed to ensure adequate traffic movement to port terminals and other industry adjacent to Front, Tiffin, and Millard which was previously hindered by stop signs.

The roundabouts accommodate increasing traffic from the new port operations and general cargo dock, which occasionally require 24-hour operation depending on vessel arrivals, as well as industrial traffic along Millard. The improvements will increase safety and provide continuous traffic movement through the corridor. This enhanced mobility will support future planned development at the port and augment economic opportunities. Overhead lane use signage in accordance with City of Toledo standards were designed and utilized for this project. The project was completed in 2020 and won an ACEC Engineering Excellence Award in 2021.
