DGL prepared the plans and bid documents, along with performing the subsequent onsite inspection required for the full depth reclamation of approximately one mile of County Road 2 (Parker Road) in Metamora. The FDR process was used to reconstruct old asphalt pavement by recycling the existing roadway materials. The existing asphalt and base materials were pulverized, then mixed with cement and water for stabilization. The recycled material was graded and compacted to produce a strong base for an asphalt surface course.
Along with the FDR of County Road 2, other work included the grading and shaping of a new roadway drainage ditch, the installation of new catch basins and storm sewer crossovers, and new pavement markings and signage.
Project highlights included leading the bidding phase, scheduling and conducting project meetings, monitoring the overall budget, managing unforeseen conditions, and coordinating with Parker Hannifin in Metamora to ensure truck deliveries did not disrupt daily operations.
