This project involved improvements to Shawnee and Wildflower Drives along their entire lengths, including full-depth reclamation to reconstruct the roadways. The improved roadways maintained their existing alignments and cross-sections. Minor width improvements were made around curves. Traffic control improvements included updated pavement markings and new signage.
The project was completed in three phases. Phase 1, Project Scoping, involved preparation for the grant application, including field reviews to define work items, development of budgetary cost estimates, and submission of the Issue 1 grant application. Phase 2, Design, included completion of construction documents and details (supported by field surveys), preparation of bid documents and specifications, and assistance with advertising, bid review, and award recommendations. Phase 3, Construction Administration, began after construction was awarded and included shop drawing review, attendance at a pre-construction meeting, limited field reviews, evaluation of pay requests and change orders, and final project closeout.
