DGL provided statewide signal timing analysis and programming on a task order basis, directly supporting safety improvements at locations selected by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). The Statewide Signal Timing Services Task Order served to improve corridor capacity by utilizing low cost solutions such as equipment change-outs and updated timing / phasing patterns. Geometric changes were not typically included as recommendations although lane reassignments were possible. DGL’s responsiblities involved reviewing operation of individual signals or signal systems, collecting and analyzing data, recommending modifications, and assessing the implementation of the recommendations to improve traffic flow. DGL was awarded 2013, 2016, and 2018 Signal Timing contracts. DGL has been assigned tasks in Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 11, and 12.
