The University of Toledo replaced a deficient pedestrian bridge on its main campus near the Carlson Library. The new bridge was wider, providing a more pleasant experience for pedestrians traversing over the Ottawa River. Aesthetics were a key component of the project, including the structure type, paint colors, and architectural stone consistent with the existing campus character. These elements and others were evaluated and incorporated to enhance the overall user experience and campus connectivity.
