DGL was contracted by Zenith Energy to provide various surveying services at its facilities in Toledo and Cleveland.
In 2020, DGL completed a rail settlement monitoring survey at the Toledo facility, as well as construction layout services for recent improvements. Field work was performed in mid-July while staff wore fire-retardant safety clothing as required for onsite access. The entirety of the facility was digitally scanned using Trimble SX12 technology, with miscellaneous items being traditionally surveyed as needed.
DGL was again contracted in 2021 and 2023 to complete digital scans of containment facilities and tanks at Zenith Energy’s downtown Cleveland facility to determine emergency volume capacity. The digital scan model clearly illustrated the locations of the tanks, containment areas, and buildings. In addition, terrestrial scanning technology was utilized to calculate the volume of Zenith’s containment systems in relation to the silos onsite. Ultimately, DGL provided evidence to the client and environmental agencies demonstrating that the site improvements continued to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Both projects were completed on schedule and within budget. DGL staff utilized a combination of traditional field surveying and scanner technology to complete the work.
