The Sylvania Avenue Study, located in the City of Sylvania and Sylvania Township, extended easterly from McCord Road to the Holland-Sylvania intersection, a distance of about one mile. This portion of Sylvania Avenue was widened to three lanes between McCord and Eaglehurst. The intersection of Sylvania / Holland-Sylvania was also upgraded to provide expanded intersection levels of service. Sylvania Avenue between the Eaglehurst and the Holland-Sylvania intersection influence is two lanes wide with high traffic volumes. The roadway carried up to 18,000 vehicles per day (vpd) with a projected volume of over 30,000 vpd.
