Nick joined DGL in 2006 and was elected principal in 2023.  Nick has been the lead bridge design engineer on many public and private sector projects as well as extensive experience in bridge inspection, load rating and design. He is familiar with recent SNBI inventory updates and has completed the FHWA NHI course for Non-Redundant Steel Tension (NSTM) inspections (previously fracture critical). He has been involved in over 400 bridge load ratings, using a variety of load rating software (BrR, BARS-PC, Excel spreadsheets; etc.). He is active in a variety of structure-based projects, with his duties including, but not limited to designing and analyzing all integral components of a bridge (superstructure, piers, abutments; etc.); structural inspections; shop drawing review and cost estimates. Nick also has vast amount of experience in the construction process, such as creating estimates using Estimator, preparing bid books, reviewing shop drawings, addressing change orders, performing construction layout staking and ultimately project closeouts.
